MONACO – September 14, 2006 - Fraser Yachts Worldwide will announce the winner of the 2006 Best Charter Captain Competition at the 16th annual Monaco Yacht Show. Brokers, captains, and representatives from Fraser Yachts and Blancpain watches will gather at the Monaco Yacht Club Thursday, September 21 for the prestigious awards ceremony.
The Best Charter Captain competition is open to all Fraser Yachts fleet captains and salutes their diligent efforts during the summers Mediterranean cruising season. In its fifth year, the event is always a highlight of the Monaco Yacht Show. This year there are over 60 captains eligible for the Best Charter Captain Award. The winner will receive a one-of-a-kind Blancpain timepiece.
Last year charter guests selected Captain Aaron Clark of the mega yacht Four Wishes, a 144-foot Palmer Johnson, the Best Charter Captain for his superb service and attention to detail. “Captain Aaron has been an absolute pleasure to work with,” stated Charter Broker Diane Fraser. “Not only has he provided my clients with outstanding service, but he has done it with a smile.”
The awards ceremony celebrates not only the Best Charter Captain but the hard-working efforts of all Fraser Yachts charter captains and crew. Awards will also be presented to the Best Charter Crew Above 40 Meters and the Best Charter Crew Below 40 Meters. Last year these awards went to the M/Y Passion (173 feet) and the M/Y Freemont (114 feet), respectively. “The success of this competition continues to surpass my expectations,” commented David Legrand, director of Charter Marketing for Fraser Yachts. “We are thrilled to be able to officially honor our outstanding and dedicated charter captains and crew.”
