CLEVELAND, OH – October 21, 2010 – Flight Options, a pioneer in private jet travel, has announced a series of modifications including the addition of elliptical winglets to the super-midsize Citation X, the fastest business jet in the world.  These modifications improve the aircraft’s efficiency, safety and comfort while making it the most affordable jet of its kind in the industry.

According to Flight Options CEO Mike Silvestro, “Essentially, what we’ve done is to redefine pricing for the entire mid and super-midsize market.  The speed, the range, the fuel efficiency all suggest a much more expensive aircraft than what our customers will pay for the Citation X.  In short, we will offer our customers a larger, faster jet at an investment level similar to other company’s smaller jets.”
 
Every Citation X in Flight Options’ fleet will be modified with elliptical winglets, which serve to boost fuel efficiency and increase its range by approximately 7% – enough of a distance to make it a true coast-to-coast aircraft.  The winglets also improve stability at slower speeds, further supporting the Citation X’s impeccable safety record.

Such enhancements build on the efficiency of Flight Options’ operation allowing the company to offer the Citation X at the lowest cost per mile in the industry – up to 30% less than what other companies charge for similar aircraft. “The industry has trained customers to believe that aircraft enhancements translate into higher pricing, but that’s simply not the case,” said Silvestro. “Our company is devoted to constantly improving operational efficiencies so customers pay less and get more.”

The enhanced cabin of the Citation X will be outfitted with onboard high-speed wireless connectivity giving passengers access to a world of business and entertainment options.
